Today, Haggai Chisom Ndubuisi, a defensive lineman, was signed by the Washington Commanders. The deal’s exact terms were not made public.

Ndubuisi (6-6, 298) is about to start his second NFL season. As a member of the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program, he signed with the Denver Broncos this past season after joining the Arizona Cardinals in 2022. Prior to joining Washington, he previously played for the San Antonio Brahmas in the United Football League (UFL) in 2023.

Ndubuisi had one preseason appearance with the Broncos in 2023, recording two tackles. For the balance of the season, he was a member of the practice squad.

Ndubuisi played in the Cardinals’ opening preseason game as a member of the team in 2022.

Ndubuisi, a Lagos, Nigeria native, played basketball and soccer as a child before learning about football on YouTube. Before enrolling in Ghana’s UpRise Academy, a program that assists in identifying African football talent, in 2021, he taught himself the game of football. Because of his achievement at a London-based International NFL Camp, Ndubuisi received an invitation to the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program.
