Just Announced: Notre Dame Drops In On Grayson McKeogh, 2026 OL Planning Return

Notre Dame has clearly been making an effort to show Grayson McKeogh that he’s a priority.
The Irish extended an offer to the 2026 Pennsylvania offensive lineman, hosted him for an unofficial visit a couple weeks ago and sent offensive line coach Joe Rudolph to check on him at La Salle College High School on Monday, the first day the Notre Dame staff hit the road.
“I definitely think that says a lot in terms of the priority that he’s put on me and that recruiting process,” McKeogh told Irish Sports Daily. “It definitely means a lot.”
Rudolph made the trip with Irish defensive backs coach Mike Mickens, who was at the school to check on McKeogh’s teammate, longtime 2026 priority recruit Joey O’Brien.
Rudolph is clearly showing a lot of interest in the 6-foot-8, 285-pound McKeogh.
“He just wants to keep this going and talk about officials and see what we can do there and just keep the ball rolling, keep building that relationship,” said McKeogh.
“He’s just a really fun guy. Nothing is forced when I’m with him. It’s like he’s just a naturally good guy to be around. I’m sure the guys really appreciate that. It definitely helps build that relationship with them just like it’s been building with me. We’ve spent time with his family and my family and everybody gets along and it’s always a good time. That’s not by accident.”
After enjoying himself on his unofficial to South Bend a couple weeks ago, McKeogh said he would try to squeeze in an official to Notre Dame in June while allowing that it was likely. Likely has improved to “most definitely” at this point, although he doesn’t have a date locked in yet.
“It’s definitely still in the works,” he said. “We are definitely narrowing down the dates.
“I just want to see what the guys do, what they do outside of football. I want to see more of how he coaches and how he interacts with those guys and how they respond to him. I think that’s definitely the biggest thing.”
McKeogh already has June official visits locked in to Penn State and Duke.
In addition to hosting Notre Dame coaches at his school on Monday, he also picked up offers from Ohio State and Alabama.
He isn’t ruling anybody out yet, but he will be putting a limit on how many schools he’ll seriously consider.
“I’m trying to keep it to three to four; four at the most,” he said. “So if I were to add an official to Notre Dame and if there was one more school that I’m able to build a really strong relationship with from now until official visit season, then that would be under consideration.”
He isn’t quite naming leaders yet, but it is obvious the Irish’s approach have them near the top.
“Penn State and Notre Dame have definitely been the guys that have shown the most interest to this point, but there are a lot of schools that are still out there that have been able to show some good interest.”
