s Detroit Lions sign third-round pick Isaac TeSlaa; 5 of 7 draft picks under contract

The Detroit Lions have signed wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa, their third-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, to a four-year rookie contract valued at $6.66 million. TeSlaa, selected 70th overall, becomes the fifth of seven draft picks to finalize their contracts, leaving only first-round cornerback Terrion Arnold unsigned .

TeSlaa’s selection was part of a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars, where the Lions moved up from pick 102 to 70, giving up two future third-round picks in the process. General Manager Brad Holmes expressed that TeSlaa was his “favorite wide receiver in this draft,” highlighting the player’s athleticism and potential despite the high cost of the trade .

At 6-foot-4 and 214 pounds, TeSlaa impressed scouts with a 4.43-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine. His collegiate career at Arkansas, following a standout season at Hillsdale College, showcased his ability to make contested catches and gain yards after the catch. TeSlaa’s physicality as a run blocker also caught the attention of the Lions’ coaching staff .

With the signing, the Lions have nearly completed their draft class contracts ahead of the summer break. The team now shifts focus to integrating these rookies into their offseason programs and preparing for the upcoming season.
