Yes! It’s my 49th birthday, I swam 1049m, and I’m a miracle! 7 years ago (a few times since, too) I went through severe sepsis that caused widespread structure & organ damage, incl several (fatal) chronic heart conditions & hypoxia. A few times I wasn’t expected to live. My spine & skeleton were degraded (my PT here said it looks like I fell off a cliff). After an extensive C-spine reconstruction, I learned how to breathe, swallow, talk, walk … and swim again, and here I am!!!
