Report: Ronald Acuna Jr. trade talk ends after MLB insider confirms Braves plans ahead of deadline…..

Veteran MLB insider Jim Bowden has firmly shut down speculation that the Braves might trade superstar outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. ahead of the July 31 trade deadline. Bowden posted on X (formerly Twitter) that “the #Braves have no interest or plans to trade Ronald Acuña Jr nor will they even consider offers”.
He doubled down on this during an interview on Foul Territory, reiterating that the Braves have “zero chance” of trading their star and that he “confirmed this with the Atlanta Braves too”.
After missing the entire 2024 season due to a torn ACL, Acuña returned strongly in 2025, delivering a .336 batting average, 11 home runs, and four stolen bases in just 41 games.
He recently overcame a minor bout of lower-back tightness and even belted two home runs in a single game against Oakland.
VHis resurgence is a key reason the Braves are clearly committed to keeping him in the lineup.
Despite the team’s current struggles and looming deadline, the Braves are maintaining a “core-first” approach. Acuña, under a team-friendly contract through 2028, is seen as essential to both their present and future plans. Trading him would not only undermine their competitive strategy but also risk alienating a dedicated fan base.
