A strong contingent of past and present University of Florida track and field stars, affectionately known as the “Gators,” are set to compete at the 2025 Toyota USATF Outdoor National Championships. The prestigious event, held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, runs from Thursday, July 31st, to Sunday, August 3rd, and serves as the official qualifier for the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan.
Sixteen Gators will proudly represent the Orange and Blue, vying for national titles and coveted spots on Team USA. To secure a place on the World Athletics Championships roster, athletes must finish in the top three in their respective events and meet the World Athletics qualifying standard or rank within the World Athletics quota.
Among the prominent Gators expected to make a significant impact are:
Jasmine Moore (Long Jump, Triple Jump): A highly decorated athlete, Moore will be a top contender in both the long jump and triple jump. Fresh off a bronze medal performance in the long jump at the Paris Olympics, she is also the only American woman to clear 14 meters in the triple jump this year, giving her a substantial lead over her competitors.
Claire Bryant (Long Jump): Training partner to Moore, Bryant will challenge for the long jump title, bringing recent international success to the field after claiming the World Indoor title in March.
Omar Craddock (Triple Jump): A seasoned veteran, Craddock will be looking to showcase his experience in the triple jump.
Will Claye (Triple Jump): Another formidable presence in the triple jump, Claye’s past performances make him a strong contender.
Other notable Gators and Gainesville-based professionals aiming for national team berths include sprint sensation Erriyon Knighton, who will be looking to make his fifth consecutive national team. Teammates Pjai Austin and Robert Gregory will be striving for their first national team appearances in the sprints. Jacory Patterson, whose breakthrough season and recent professional contract with Nike have elevated his profile, will also be a key athlete to watch.
The 2025 Toyota USATF Outdoor National Championships promise thrilling competition as the nation’s best track and field athletes converge in Eugene with their sights set on both national glory and international representation. Fans can catch the action live on NBC and Peacock during the championship weekend, with full streaming and replays available via USATF.tv for subscribers.
