BREAKING NEWS: Gas Explosion Sparks Fire During Tennessee Titans Rookie Minicamp
NASHVILLE, TN — May 10, 2025
Chaos erupted at Nissan Stadium this morning as a gas explosion triggered a dangerous fire during the Tennessee Titans’ rookie minicamp, forcing an immediate evacuation and raising serious safety concerns.
The explosion is believed to have originated from a maintenance area beneath the east stands, potentially linked to a ruptured gas line following ongoing renovations. Stadium personnel and eyewitnesses described a thunderous blast followed by thick plumes of smoke and flames engulfing a section of the facility.
Emergency crews responded within minutes, working rapidly to contain the blaze. Eleven individuals have been reported injured, including two rookie players and a stadium technician, all currently receiving treatment for burns and smoke-related injuries. Thankfully, no fatalities have been confirmed.
Titans top draft pick, quarterback Cam Ward, was present during the incident but escaped without harm. “It was terrifying—we heard the boom, then saw the flames. Everyone just ran,” he told reporters.
The Titans have suspended all rookie camp activities until further notice. Team officials expressed their thanks to first responders and stated that a full investigation is underway in collaboration with city safety inspectors.
This marks one of the most serious safety incidents in Nissan Stadium’s history and casts uncertainty over the venue’s readiness ahead of the 2025 NFL season kickoff.
This is a developing story. Stay tuned for updates.
