TRENDING NEWS:  women’s team gets a commitment from a 6’5″ international prospect

The Kentucky Wildcats women’s basketball team had a tremendous 2024-25 season in head coach Kenny Brooks’ first season. They’re also well-stocked for next season, with a number of very good players returning.

With so many players coming back, Brooks didn’t need a lot of recruiting additions. They landed a four-star recruit already in Kaelyn Carroll, and now have gained a commitment from Elsa Vadfors, a 19 year old center from Sweden.

Vadfors is a 6’5″ frontcourt player who played for Sweden’s Uppsala Basket. She was also a member of their 2024 FIBA U18 Women’s Eurobasket team. She posted averages of 1.7 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.

With Clara Silva’s transfer, the Wildcats needed another player with size, and Vadfors provides that. She is also a player on the rise with experience. She will be a Freshman next season, and will certainly see some time backup up Clara Strack inside. It’s another solid recruit landed by Brooks.
