The Atlanta Braves will have three hometown stars representing the National League at the 2025 MLB All-Star Game—Ronald Acuña Jr., Matt Olson, and Chris Sale all set to take part in the festivities at Truist Park on Tuesday, July 15 at 8 p.m. ET .

Matt Olson, an Atlanta native who attended the 2000 Turner Field festivities as a child, earned his third career All-Star nod (his second with the Braves) and joins as a reserve first baseman .

After a slow start, he’s surged since mid-May: hitting .271/.372/.495 with 17 homers and leading NL first basemen in fWAR at 3.1, while also ranking among MLB’s best defensively .

Olson described it as a “full‑circle” moment, returning to the field in the city where he once cheered from the stands .

Sale: Injury‑Halted Yet Honored

Chris Sale, the Braves’ reigning NL Cy Young winner, claimed his ninth All-Star selectionhis second as a Brave .

Despite being on the 60-day IL with fractured ribs (sustained June 18), he tallied an impressive 1.23 ERA over his last 10 starts before injury .

Sale acknowledged he won’t pitch but will proudly “tip his cap” to the hometown fans .

Why It Matters

Despite a rough first half (Braves are 39–50, 11 games under .500), it’s the first time since 2000 that the host team has three All-Stars on its roster .
