DONE DEAL: Texas finally sign $86m WR

Steve Sarkisian, the head coach of Texas, has found success through the NCAA transfer portal.

Texas signed wide receiver Adonai Mitchell in the summer. The former Georgia athlete was an important part of the Longhorns’ success this season. Sarkisian and his staff brought in starting quarterback Quinn Ewers the year before.

Sarkisian and his crew have targeted spots of need through the portal as Texas prepares for the College Football Playoff. With Mitchell and fellow wide receiver Xavier Worthy expected to enter the NFL draft, the Longhorns added Houston wide receiver Matthew Golden to their roster.

On the defensive side of the ball, Texas added Clemson defensive back Andrew Mukuba and UTSA edge Trey Moore.

Despite only bringing in three players through the portal, Texas has the highest average player rating in 247Sports’ 2024 transfer portal class rankings. The Longhorns have a 92.67 grade point average. Georgia is closely trailed by Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Missouri.
