Georgia defensive lineman Warren Brinson announces return for 2024 season.

Georgia has another senior defensive lineman returning for one more year.

Late Saturday night, Warren Brinson confirmed his return to Georgia for the 2024 season in a video on his social media.

Brinson has been with the Bulldogs for the past four years. The former 2020 four-star prospect and IMG Academy product has suited up for the Bulldogs every year of his career and has seen his role rise since his rookie season.

Brinson was more of a reserve defensive lineman during Georgia’s national title run in 2021. However, for the Bulldogs’ repeat feat in 2022, he suited up in all 15 games and was a crucial rotational defensive lineman for Georgia’s second of the team’s back-to-back national championships.

Brinson was still not a consistent starter with the Bulldogs in 2023, having only started in three games, but will likely fall into a more consistent starter role with Zion Logue departing for the 2024 NFL Draft. Brinson still achieved career highs with 21 tackles and two sacks on the year and was a somewhat constant force of pressure up the middle for the Bulldogs.

Brinson returns for his fifth season alongside fellow 2020 defensive line prospect Nazir Stackhouse. The two will likely see the field considerably more this season as the two oldest guys in the defensive line group. Brinson and Stackhouse also join others like rising fourth-year Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins, rising third-years Mykel Williams and Christen Miller and rising second-years Jordan Hall and Jamaal Jarrett.

The Bulldogs have also landed five freshmen on the defensive line in the 2024 class and brought in transfer Xzavier McLeod from South Carolina..

Brinson and Stackhouse’s return offers an experienced presence that could’ve been lacking without them. With one last season each, both will have an opportunity to contribute to another Bulldogs playoff push and increase their individual draft rankings.
