Longhorns’ official sign and new jersey number

Longhorns Officially Sign WR Isaiah Bond, Reveal New Jersey Number

Austin — The Texas Longhorns received a commitment from Alabama transfer receiver Isaiah Bond on Sunday and quickly signed him.

The Longhorns have officially added Bond to their 2024 roster and announced the move on social media. He arrived in Austin yesterday and has already received a new jersey number.

Bond will wear No. 7 next season, replacing the No. 17 he wore at Alabama. His nickname “007” naturally corresponds to his surname. He now has the jersey number to make everything work.

Around the time of his signing, Bond shared a photo of himself with Texas coach Steve Sarkisian and threw up the “Hook ‘Em.”

The addition of Bond could give Texas its leading receiver for next season, so the excitement surrounding his arrival in Austin on Saturday was genuine. Longhorns fans went wild with speculation on social media, with many believing the team had already secured the commitment behind closed doors because of how quickly Bond arrived at the Forty Acres after entering the portal.

Bond had 65 receptions, 888 receiving yards, and five touchdowns during his two seasons at Alabama. He now provides SEC-ready production to the Longhorns ahead of their inaugural season in the legendary conference.
