confirmed; he has just left

Marcus Castro-Walker, Florida’s Director of Player Engagement and Name, Image, and Likeness, has left the university, according to a UF official on Thursday.

Graham Hall of 247Sports was the first to disclose Castro-Walker’s departure from UF.

“Marcus Castro-Walker is not employed by the athletic department,” UF spokesperson Steve McClain stated on Thursday morning.

According to The Athletic, Castro-Walker, who joined Florida in an off-field job in December 2021, is a crucial figure in the NCAA’s active inquiry into the program’s recruitment of class of 2023 quarterback, Jaden Rashada.

The NCAA investigation centres on Rashada’s Florida recruiting and signing, which resulted in what was at the time considered unparalleled Name, Image, and Likeness turbulence.

Rashada, one of the consensus top-ranked quarterbacks in the class of 2023, signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Gators in December 2022, having switched his college pledge from Miami to Florida in a midnight social media revelation the month before.
