One of the most prolific tacklers in college football, Knight racked up 390 combined stops in four years with the Miners, including a whopping 84 solo stops in 2023. Seeing action both as an off-ball linebacker and outside linebacker, he amassed 8.5 sacks and 32 tackles for loss in his college career, earning himself a Senior Bowl invite in January before eventually meeting with the Seahawks on one of his top-30 visits.

Knight’s play can be a little sporadic, as he lacks refinement at either linebacker spot and at times found himself out of position in coverage and defending the run. However, he plays with a relentless motor and obviously has a nose for the football, whether rocketing into the backfield to blow up running backs or shooting through the A-gap as a blitzer to take a beeline to the quarterback.

Pete Carroll formally stepped down as Seattle Seahawks head coach on Wednesday, capping a 14-year run that saw him transform the Seahawks into Super Bowl champions and regular contenders. Carroll is regarded as one of the best football coaches of all time, particularly during his stay at USC in the 2000s, when the team won its two most recent college football national championships.

Carroll received numerous tributes on social media, including from several members of the Seahawks’ 2013 championship squad. The most noteworthy of these tributes came from Russell Wilson, the team’s quarterback who went on to become a perennial Pro Bowler before being moved by the Seahawks in 2022.

Carroll will remain on the team as an advisor. He had a poignant and emotional press conference to announce his decision on Wednesday, which was attended by several Seahawks players and employees and ended with applause.
